The Vic Branch members’ conference is being held on Friday evening, the
13th May and Saturday the 14th of May 2011 at the Victorian Trades Hall Building on the corner of Lygon and Victoria Streets, Carlton.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
It’s about:
- your next enterprise agreement; how to and what’s in
- the National Broadband Network, jobs, training, etc
- offshoring of jobs and contracting out and what we can do about it
- changing Australia’s industrial laws to get a real right to strike and other workers’ rights
- what is needed to improve the performance of the union
- rebuilding unionism in the communications industry to improve our bargaining power
and much, much more
There will be important guest speakers e.g:
* ELMER LABOG – the National President of the strongest union movement in the Philippines
* CHRIS CAIN – WA Branch Secretary of the Maritime Union of Australia
