SLD 10/06 - MORE INFO: MEMBERS CONFERENCE – EBA IN TELSTRA

We need you to book in for the EBA conference, or the telephone hookup for the first hour or so of the conference.

The conference is set for 9.30 am to 4 pm on SATURDAY 30th JANUARY 2010 and will be held at the main CEPU office, 1st floor, 139 Queensberry Street, Carlton South.

The telephone hookup for those that can’t make the conference is from 10 am till about 11 – 11.30 am on the day.

Please notify us by return email, telephone or SMS of:

*         Your attendance at the conference (for catering purposes etc) or

*         Your attendance on the telephone hookup and the telephone number you wish to be called on for participation

We intend to give reports at the start of the conference to bring people up to date and obviously this will include those on the telephone hookup.

Then people on the telephone hookup can ask questions and put views before they have to leave the hookup, after an hour or so.

The people in attendance at the conference will then have their opportunity to ask questions, debate the issues and look at/decide upon the various options and issues.

Please make sure you register as advised above and please do it as soon as possible.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION REMINDER

All members are directed to continue to apply the overtime (paid or unpaid) and recall bans until further notice. If there are difficulties with applying these bans then members should contact the Branch to discuss the situation if you have not already done so.

No "life and limb" work should be undertaken until it is cleared with the Branch officials.

The overtime bans clearly include no unpaid overtime. That includes no logging on prior to your normal start time, particularly for those members in Service Delivery who are dispatched via CONNECT.

The union has notified for "an indefinite stoppage" for all members every day until further notice. However, members should only take "indefinite stoppage" action following a written or verbal directive from the branch officials.

As members return to work from holidays, the action will begin to ramp up again. Our members in the Argent area of Next Generation Operations have walked out and are considering further action.

Contact the branch officials as necessary.
