BURT BLACKBURNE RETIREMENT FUNCTION
Members are invited to attend a retirement function for Burt Blackburne on Thursday 11th August 2011, 6.30PM at the Castle Hotel, Cnr Courtney & Arden Sts, North Melbourne.
Burt is retiring from the CWU to take up a new life in the “bush”. He will be known to many members first with Telecom, then 21 years as a union official, initially with the T&S Vic Branch and in recent years as the national Assistant Secretary Communications Division.
Nibbles and limited drinks will be provided. Donations toward a present accepted on the night.
Members should be aware that numbers are limited, so please get in early (RSVP: COB Friday 5th Aug) if you wish to attend. Either email cdtsvic@cwu.asn.au or phone 9349 4411 but do it now!
BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Branch Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 31 August 2011 6PM at the Branch Office, Ground Floor, 139 Queensberry Street, Carlton South. Refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.
Please find attached a copy of the Concise Financial Report for the year ending 31 March 2011 for your consideration and adoption.
If the Financial Report is not attached to your email, and many workplace emails do drop the attachment (circumstances beyond our control), please go to the website www.cepu.net.au and download a copy which will be available later today.
NEW CEPU WEBSITE
CWU VicTS has an additional web site now where potential members can sign up online: www.mycepu.com.au
If you have workmates who have expressed an interest in joining you can now direct them to the site – it’s all so easy, union rates, member services etc – it’s all there. Eventually we will incorporate the other Branch website so that all Branch information is together.
The national site www.cepuconnects.org is undergoing an upgrade. If you would like to make a suggestion re the content of the site please fill out the attached questionnaire or go to: www.cepu.asn.au and download a copy which will be available later today.
